The racerunner has six yellowish or bluish stripes running along a dark body. The body is usually some shade of brown, greenish brown, or black. The nose is long and pointed. They reach total lengths of up to 9.5 inches. Males have a bluish belly and are slightly smaller than females. They live in hot, dry areas open fields or rocky outcrops. |

The body scales are smooth, over lapping, and glossy. Five white to cream colored stripes are on a dark brown to brownish-gray background color, stripes go half way down the tail. They grow from 3 to 7- 1/2 in. They can be found under logs and boards that are decomposing, cracks in buildings. |

The body scales are smooth, shiny, and overlapping. markings consists of 5 white to cream lines on a background ranging from all brown to black, some individuals lack the stripes. They prey on invertebrates and some vertebrates and forage in and under the leaf litter, as well as in trees. |

This lizard can attain a total length up to 7 inches. They are gray, brown, or tan with a series of dark, wavy cross bands on the back. Adult males have bright blue patches on their sides and bellies during the breeding season. Fence lizards are found on dry, steep, forested hill sides. They are also found around farms and often bask on the sides of buildings, rock piles, and fences. |
